Children & Minors (U18)
We welcome young people in all areas of the restaurant up to 7:00pm daily – after 7:00pm they continue to be welcome downstairs.
Whilst we do not have high chairs we do have plenty of booster seats that strap onto our chairs, these are suitable for little ones from 12 months upwards. If you would like to bring your own high chair, we will make sure there is plenty of space at your table – just let us know when you book. We do not have a specific children’s menu but we do have a number of dishes on our main menu we can prepare in smaller portions; we are also more than happy to give you an extra plate if you want to share!
We are very dog friendly! Dogs, of the well behaved variety, are very welcome at The Bridge downstairs inside the bar area, although not in the conservatory. Drinking water for your four legged companion can be found in the dog bowls by the main entrance and on the patio and there are always treats on hand too.
Bookings & Service
We do take bookings but always endeavour to make sure that there is plenty of room for customers who are not able to book in advance. On special occasions such as Mother’s Day, we would always advise booking, and on those days we will ask for a deposit to secure your table.
We will take your food and wine drink at the table unless sitting outside downstairs. However, if you prefer you may order all your food and drinks at the bar, the crew will simply check which table you are sitting at as you place your order.
We are also more than happy to run a tab for you to save you fiddling around with cash. That way there’s an outside chance Dad will pay for everything too!
The first floor at The Bridge lends itself beautifully to larger group bookings but we can also cater for smaller groups of friends and family with ease. For groups of 8 or more, we would ask for a deposit to secure your booking, and depending on the number in your group and the date we may also ask for a pre-order. We are happy to talk through your booking with you so please do call us to find out what we can offer.
The Bridge has two floors with each floor just as good as the other. The service is the same throughout and we will come to you unless you are seated on the downstairs patio. Our upstairs balcony has stunning views across the Cattewater towards Plymouth and over the busy Yacht Haven Marina. In the quieter months we may just open downstairs but please feel free to sit on the balcony if you wish, just be aware that the upstairs bar may be closed and you’ll have to just pop downstairs to be served.
The Coastal Path and Ferry
Being situated right on the water front we are lucky enough to have the southwest coastal path run straight past our door. If you fancy refreshing yourself after a leisurely meal or maybe to work up an appetite then you can follow it through the Marina and up to the Mount Batten Tower giving you panoramic views of Plymouth, The Cattewater, The Sound and across to Cornwall.
At Mount Batten point the ferry runs over to Plymouth Barbican so for those of you that fancy making a real adventure of it why not get to us by boat! Ferry times are seasonal so please ask a member of staff to find out the times for you if you are thinking of embarking on a sea journey!
Wi-fi is available throughout The Bridge. If you would like to make use of this then simply ask your device (nicely!) to search for the wireless network available, and then select TheBridge WiFi from those that it finds. You will not need a password or login name to access this network. Laptops or tablets not provided!
There is loads of parking at The Bridge and the disabled bay is right by the front door. Our parking bays that are solely for the use of our customers are in blue and marked with a ‘B’. If all these spaces are taken then there is an overflow car park that can be found on the right as you depart the marina (first right after the speed bumps). Please feel free to park in any of these spaces. We share the area with the marina so we do ask that our customers refrain from parking in unmarked bays that are immediately on our doorstep. People with boats still need a car!
