Kitchen Porter

As our existing crew return to their studies, we are now on the search for Kitchen Porters to work on either a full or part time basis in our busy kitchen. You must be able to work as part of a team, and under pressure as we are lucky enough to be busy throughout the year!

Kitchen Porters are essential to the functioning of a kitchen. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring kitchen cleanliness, and maintaining kitchen organisation. Experience on the job is not necessary as we will give full training.

Chef De Partie

We are looking for experienced Chefs de Partie and/or Senior Chefs de Partie to join our crew at The Bridge at Mount Batten and Turtley Corn Mill in Avonwick.

Our Chefs de Partie undertake key roles in the kitchen and we’re looking for people with good cooking skills and experience of working in a busy, fresh food environment.

You’ll have the opportunity to gain experience working across all areas of the kitchen and will generally be given responsibility to look after a particular section with the help of other chefs. On a daily basis you’ll be supporting the Sous Chefs and Head Chef in a range of duties including fresh food preparation and cooking as well as undertaking kitchen management duties including ordering, stock control and ensuring food safety and cleaning standards are met.

As part of the team, you’ll help develop seasonal menus with a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world – in other words, modern British cookery.

Creating a happy working atmosphere is vital to the successful running of the kitchens and comes high on our agenda and so your contribution to creating a friendly and supportive working environment is crucial.

The potential here is enormous and we’re looking for ambitious, creative and committed chefs with a passion for good food who are ready to take the next step in their career. Depending on your experience, as a Chef de Partie or Senior Chef de Partie, we’ll reward you with a starting salary package up to £21,000 per annum plus company benefits dependant on experience.
